Ahead of Milton Keynes Hospital Charity’s green themed month in October, and as part of Stratos’ participation in the Franklins £50 challenge, we’re encouraging businesses, schools, and organisations across Milton Keynes to GO GREEN on Friday 23rd May 2025.

Taking part couldn’t be easier, all we’re asking you to do is wear green – it can be anything from a pair of socks, right through to a full-on dinosaur costume! – and donate as much or as little as you can, to Milton Keynes Hospital Charity (MKHC), via our Just Giving page.

Stratos has even created a GO GREEN DAY toolkit, including posters, social media assets and campaign copy,  so that you can promote your participation with colleagues, clients, parents, students, volunteers and anyone else that you can encourage to get involved.

As the official NHS charity for Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, MKHC’s purpose is simple yet profound: to enhance the care, support and experience for patients, families and staff at the hospital.

Raising almost half a million pounds in 2023/24 Milton Keynes Hospital Charity, with the help of its supporters, partners, volunteers, fundraisers and individual donors, were able to provide:

  • A new Counselling Room and Support Video for parents in the Neonatal Unit
  • A new Sensory Room in the Children’s Emergency Department
  • End of Life Care boxes, which include radios, lamps, knitted blankets, relaxing sound devices, notepads and pens
  • Supporting Butterfly Volunteers’ important work
  • Scalp Cooling Systems for Cancer Patients
  • Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Machines for Sleep Apnoea treatment
  • And much, much more.

Commenting on the idea behind GO GREEN DAY, Account Manager at Stratos, Amy Williams explains: “When we were considering ideas for the Franklins £50 Challenge, we wanted to create a campaign that was simple and engaging, while showcasing the talents within our team – creativity, design, marketing, PR and social media.

“We’ve seen how effective these types of activities can be on a national scale, with the likes of Red Nose Day and Children in Need, following a similarly simple approach, and we’re hoping that with our ability to create some strong campaign assets and copy, we can replicate this on a local level and raise as much awareness and money as possible for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity.”

Kelly Errington, Community Fundraiser at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity says: “We love the idea of this campaign, from our long-term corporate supporters, Stratos, and it’s a great prelude to our ‘Be Seen in Green’ campaign that we’re preparing for in October, where we’re asking supporters to make a difference by holding fundraisers with a green theme throughout the month.

“Thank you to Stratos for continuing to be such a hugely important supporter of MKHC, and we can’t wait to see the results of this, and all of the other activities that local businesses are running as part of the Franklins £50 Challenge.”
