Breathing life into Letchworth Garden City.
A placemaking brand which expanded into various way-finding and social campaigns.
Letchworth Garden City needed a fresh identity—one that captures its spirit of freedom, discovery, and rich history, while embracing a pioneering future. Our goal was to craft a brand that grows with the town, making everyone feel welcome and represented.

The challenge
The foundations representing Letchworth Garden City faced numerous challenges, as the city’s visibility and appeal within the UK were declining. This led to reduced footfall, slower economic growth, and lower community morale. They needed an identity that highlighted the city’s unique character and united its cultural diversity.
The Solution
We created a placemaking brand that highlights the city’s unique strengths. Inspired by Barry Parker, one of the architects who designed the city, we transformed his drawings into dynamic patterns reflecting the area’s distinct qualities. The brand also fosters unity and pride by representing community members, building an inclusive identity that welcomes visitors and empowers residents.

A special thanks to

“This project was special because of the genuine connection between so many different elements: the past, the present, the people – and how these all came together under one brand.”
